Peter Koepernik

I'm a final year PhD student in Mathematics at Oxford University specialising in probability theory, and I'm currently visiting the Center for Human-Compatible AI at Berkeley AI Research to work on projects related to reinforcement learning, tree search algorithms, and program synthesis.

Before that and for the majority of my PhD, I worked on mathematical population biology with Alison Etheridge, and on numerical stochastic analysis with Terry Lyons.

Prior to starting my PhD, I obtained a Master's in Mathematics from Oxford University, where I finished at rank 1 of my cohort, and Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
